Hoi Marijke,
Groetjes,

Hi Cam, could you please enter your email addres again? Somehow it didn't show up at my .com Anyway, i don't think haul out in Taiwan is "yachting" bizz,. Take a look at Noonsite, there is more recent cruising etc info about Taiwan. For sure there is a more active yachting group in Kaoshung, maybe they can help you. Salute, jaap

Hi there, just visited you site and would like to ask about your time in Taiwan. We are now in Okinawa on our way back to HK and are wondering whether we can haul out in Southern Taiwan (hopefully, the marina in the most southern tip. Have you been there? We are a 42 feet catamaran and even though we found so many cats in Okinawa, but in Ginowan marina, you have to hire your own crane, which is a lot more expensive. would be glad to get some advice from you about Taiwan. Fair Winds.

Been following (and enjoying) your travels for about 1 year now and check regularly. Found originally as we sometimes wonder about sailing S.E. Asia (and perhaps Japan) someday down the road.
We're in Vancouver -- a great place for sailing (any plans for the west coast of N.A. ever?)

MArijke, Jaap,

Hi, Fab website and especially Marijke's pics... words can't describe her skill with the lense and shutter button. We've just spent our 3 month Thai visas at many of the places you've been to and we're now back in Langkawi for three months minimum. Damn hot now!! Flying home to Perth for 3.5 weeks in May and then return here to Rebak for some overland excursions to somewhere. We'll stay in touch. Best regards, Gus.

Jaap and Marijke,
Wow! You look fantastic, I'm sort of like the tin man and need daily oiling or all the joints freeze up. Still saving lives and stamping out disease at SCU and was planning on retiring next year but with the crash of all our retirement funds, looks like I'll be working another elenty-seven years. And so it goes. I soooo want to hook up with you but seems it'll be awhile, I love the toes on the hard life cruising pictures. Don't forget the sunscreen, I'm currently doing a new topical treatment for my skin cancer which stings like hell and looks pretty darn ugly but hey, what's the alternative? My students are fabulous and keep me grinning so all is not lost. Miss Molly the dog sends love and chases around the deck to your kitties and I send lots of big hugs and sweet kisses, michele

Hi guys.
My name is Pam Teese, and I'm from Liverpool, England, now living in Ireland.
I saw that you met up with Hiro Nagae, and I'd love to touch base with him and his family. I sailed the atlantic crossing with himself, his Liverpool wife Jenny, their daughter Erika, and other crew covering two legs from Bermuda - Azores and then Azores- England. The latter leg comprised an all girl crew, with Hiro as skipper. Hiro's daughter Erika was only about foour at the time, and we had great fun with her - I couldn't tell you how often we resorted to playing our racing game "Ten times round the boat" !!We had to stretch our imagination at times. They were on their cicumnavigation when I met them a couple of years later in Palma, Majorca, Spain. Hiro was planning to open an outdoor activity centre in Japan following the trip. I wonder if he did that? And I'd love to know about Erika and her mother, Jennifer.
If you have any news or could give me contact details or put me in touch I'd be thrilled. Good luck on your travels.

Hi! What a surprise news Jaap has been injered. A photo looks so miserable and enjoyable also. I was in Phuket around X'mas time 1997 for a week. It was so beautiful place and sailed Katamaran "Two to Tango" for a day. Your story makes me sentimental journey, but we were quite lucky there was no natural disastor then. I sinserely hope the people will be recovered sooner. Japan is hot summer now 33average and Hakata is evern the hottest because of Yamakasa for a week. That festival remainds me of both of you. Hope all are well. See you when I see you, we shall see in sea. Mena

I can send you some photo's of the Hareem if you would like but tell me if you have a file size limitation. it should not be too bad if you are still getting the bimini done. Cheers and all the best to both of you.

How cool! It's been a very long time since I sailed. I was just talking about life at sea all those years ago ( I used to sail transatlantic) and was telling a mate of mine that I had the pleasure of working for a few days ona 90 footer called Diabless.( we were in Gaudalupe at the time) This was back in '86, when she was infact yacht of the year and then owned by the American franchiser owner of Beneton USA. All those years ago, I had no camera..so seeing this wonderful picture of Diabless..has made my day.
Good luck on your continued journey...to say I envy you guys..is an understatment!
Happy sailing! :)

Groeten: Fam. Kortman.
